About Jim
Jim is an experienced piano teacher with a distinct Pop Music point of view. He taught private lessons at his home studio, as a traveling teacher, and online. In addition, Jim taught group lessons both at home and at a community music school. Jim served on the MMTA (MN Music Teachers’ Association) Popular Styles Committee, helped launch the Popular Styles curriculum program, and curated the repertoire for the educational series and it's exams.
Jim is a self-taught pianist who has been accompanying soloists and choirs since high school. He has formal training on the organ and has worked as a church musician since high school including 9 years as Music Director/Organist. Jim accompanied his first musical in college and has since played nearly 50 productions.
Although he has returned to work in the corporate world, Jim continues to publish arrangements for students he hopes to one day teach again! He currently resides in Nebraska.
