* Beginning school-aged students receive 60-minute weekly lessons using the Piano Express group curriculum. The first 30-minutes is a LAB SESSION focused on a game-like computer interface with a keyboard where students level up by successfully achieving 95%+ accuracy on notes and rhythms. The second 30-minute GROUP SESSION is lead by a teacher covering ear training, eye training, creativity, and technique. After completing all 6 levels of Piano Express curriculum can choose their next path: pop music, classical music, song writing, or competitions. * Adult lessons for beginners and those with previous experience meet 8-10 weeks in 60-minute group lessons. After completing this “101” class, students can join the on-going “201” group learning multi-skill level Piano Band ensemble repertoire. |

Jim teaches students who:
* PLAY BY EAR to understand the building blocks of music and help them use this knowledge to create their own musical arrangements. * PLAY IN JAZZ BAND to read jazz charts, understand their role in the jazz band (and how it can change based on which instruments are present in the rhythm section), and explore improvisation.
